We have been receiving lots of feedback and feature requests from our users. A lot of people have written amazing things about Jobrary and that’s really motivating. Its amazing to see how people are creatively using our simple yet very powerful service. So, here we are, again with features and changes that are simple yet very powerful.

1. Profile Settings

We have added new options which makes your profile more customizable. For example if you want to show your portfolio as your default profile page, it can be done using these settings. A lot of times creative professionals just want to show their portfolio to the public and therefore don’t need the resume section at all. We have added an option using which you can now select if you need only resume, only portfolio or both.

2. Video Thumbnails

Earlier, we were showing a standard, static thumbnail image for video portfolio items. This made editing the portfolio difficult as one did not know which video the item represented. Even in the public profile page the viewers did not find it appealing not to have thumbnails for videos. This experience is much better now. With thumbnails editing portfolio is much easier and error free. Even the viewers of the portfolio now find it much attractive and are more likely to view to video.

3. More Portfolio Items

We started Jobrary with maximum limit for portfolio items set to 25. A lot of our users complained about this. They said 25 is very less and creative professionals have a lot to show. Therefore, we have doubled this item with our recent release. You can now upload 50 portfolio items and these can be Images, Videos and PDF files.

Since we launched Jobrary, our users have been asking for ways to add videos and PDFs to their portfolio. Today, we are excited to announce the feature our users need most and some other major changes. With this, more and more people will be able to showcase their work on Jobrary. This will provide our users with new medium to communicate their capabilities and skills to a potential employer.

In the gallery page of portfolio, we have created 2 different sections, one for uploading Images or PDFs and the other for adding video. To upload an image or PDF hit the browse button and select the file you want to add to your portfolio. Jobrary will automatically figure out the file type and display it accordingly. For videos, we currently support videos from YouTube, Vimeo and blip.tv only. You’ll need to upload your videos in one of these sites. Once uploaded, you can obtain its embed code and paste it in video section of your portfolio’s gallery in Jobrary. The video will then appear as one of your portfolio item.

We have tried to make adding of videos and PDFs as simple as possible. We have also tried to provide maximum freedom by allowing you to add Images, PDFs and Videos as part of the same portfolio gallery. So if you have worked on a project that involved creating images and videos then you can showcase this as a single project on Jobrary.

With todays release we have also raised our current limit of 25 images to 35 portfolio items. Also, now you can organize these 35 portfolio items the way you like. Add all the items in single gallery or distribute them equally or which ever way you want to showcase your portfolio. You are in total control now.

Similarly, as a freelance photographer, you may wish to think out-of-the-box and rename all your sections creatively. Change the Order

In addition to adding and deleting entire sections or changing their titles, you can even modify the order in which sections of your resume appear. Each section contains “Move Up” and “Move Down” buttons for easy rearrangement. You may want to shuffle elements of your resume to see what looks best to the discerning eye. For instance, you may want your Certifications to be displayed immediately after Education, or you may prefer indicating your Experience in the very beginning.
